Brittni Winlow is the owner of Emerge Pediatric Therapy, which has locations in Durham, Cary, and Carrboro. When opening up the third location in 2021, Brittni and her team experienced increasing HR needs as their business grew.

“There were issues with staff that I wasn’t 100% confident in navigating without guidance,” said Brittni. She found Close HR and scheduled a meeting with Ann Close.

“Ann listened very intentionally and asked good questions,” Brittni recalls. “She recommended we do a more thorough dive into the ways they could help us.”

Close HR was particularly helpful in creating a process for employee separation, including data collection and correcting the employee’s actions. They trained Emerge’s management team on conflict resolution for internal conflicts and mediating relationships.

When Brittni recognized an employee she wanted to promote from within, Allison and the Close HR team helped equip that employee to become HR Manager.

“They have been able to closely work with not only me but my HR manager to work through the hiring process, termination, onboarding plans, and conflict resolution,” said Brittni. Close HR also assisted with handbook updates, company forms, and documentation.

When given the opportunity to receive HR services through Emerge’s insurance provider, Brittni stuck with Close HR because of their relational approach.

“They know our history, and we’re not working with a random person,” she said.
